Bridge Set (of 1895)

The Bridge Set, the first set combining stones and metal, is called the Bridge Set of 1895 because in subsequent years the company produced many different bridge sets, in at least seven different series.  This special set is the only one produced in the NF era. Richter knew it would not sell well, but he felt he had to respond to the Keller Brothers, whose building set containing both stone blocks and metal parts won a gold medal in London in 1892.  Only one complete set is known -- it came to light in 2004.  Metal parts turned up on an Ebay auction, in 2003.  Metal parts, reproduced from the patent and the packing and building plans, have been available since 1999.  These reproduction metal parts proved to be very accurate.

This model was built using a combination of old and reproduction metal parts.
